Why Serendipity?
Wow. It's happening. Soooo, if you're reading this--thank you for taking the time to venture over to my page and begin this journey with me. If you can't really tell, I honestly do not have the slightest idea as to what I am doing. But, I have put some time aside and decided to create this blog to have a space of my own that I can edit, create, and share my pictures, thoughts, and experiences through a semi-real life blog. I'm currently a baby novice in the online blogging world so I will do my best to pretend like I know what to do.
Anyways, sooo, why did I choose to create a blog? Why the name serendipity? And what will I be posting/how often? As my senior year winds down and I begin a new chapter of my life, I want a space of my own that captures my experiences through my own photography and words in a personal and online way. I also have had numerous conversations about creating a blog and it has been something that I've been working on for quite some time. So Serendipity is my attempt at doing that! I love the word serendipity with all my heart because it sums up my experiences in an almost perfect way:
Serendipity: (n) the chance occurrence of events in a beneficial way. I say "almost perfect" because I don't really think the events in my life have all happened "by chance." But, that is something for another post...(lol sounds so professional).
As to how much I will be posting and how often, I'm not quite sure...It will depend a lot on the business of my days/weeks and the motivation for creating/writing a post. I do want to be active and keep up with my blog but like I said, I'm still an ethereal blogger who is not of the blogging realm yet...However, I feel that I do have a mild experience with blogging because I tend to do it through my Instagram page. But Instagram is different in kind because:
1. there are word limits
2. it is"social media"
3. most people do not want a denouement (a narrative) of words in their feed
(but thank you to all those who have encouraged me and said a kind word about my posts--you all are my inspiration).
So, I'm reaalllly going to try to keep my Instagram posts short and to the point and instead use my blog as my space to write seemingly eloquent posts about my thoughts, travels, and experiences.
For a few months I've been doing some on and off "research" about blogging (and by research I mean like going on Pinterest searches lol) and I know that I'm supposed to have a particular focus or goal through my blog. So, I feel that my blog will mostly be more of a personal narrative about things that affect my thoughts, feelings, and heart. I also have recently been going through a sonder, or a realization that each passerby, friend, sibling, teacher, and person has a life as vivid, complex, and unique as my own. And that's pretty cool. So I want to celebrate that.
Sooo, this is probably the worst blog-post known to blog-post history but I hope to continue my "blogging journey" and create a space that is uplifting, positive, and inspiring through my attempt at observing and capturing the beautiful things and people around me. I'm not so sure how many avid readers/followers I will have, but I guess that I have to take a leap of faith and hope that someone out there will appreciate this endeavor.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this and reach out to me, you all are amazing. I feel a little weird/insecure about doing this whole blogging thing, so if you do end up reaching this point and finishing this post, feel free to comment on this post (if you can--I still don't know how that all works), or even text me. I'd love to hear some feedback (again--WHAT EVEN! lol.) Okay, I can't think of anything else (: I hope to have a post up soon about my recent mission trip to Clintwood, VA and some of the people I met, things I wrote/felt, and why serving others is an ineffable (too great to be expressed in words) way to discover meaning and purpose in life and in the lives of others.
Thank you again for reading!
ok bye (:
